Azure BackupCorporate data backup is a must-have for any company looking to protect its data from loss or corruption. As data volume generated by companies grows, there is a need for powerful and reliable backup tools. Microsoft Azure is one such tool, which provides ample opportunities for saving and restoring corporate data backups.

Azure Backup – is a service that allows you to back up data for virtual machines, databases, file servers, and other solutions. The service allows you to create data copies both in Azure and outside of Azure. Azure Backup keeps copies of your data for long periods of time, from a few months to a few years, depending on the storage options you choose.

The main features of Azure Backup service:

  • Virtual machines and physical servers protection: service supports most operating systems used in corporate environments, including Windows and Linux.
  • File server and application protection: service supports data protection for file servers and applications such as Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, etc.
  • Multi-protocol support: service supports multiple protocols such as SMB, NFS, and iSCSI, allowing you to back up data from multiple sources.
  • Automatic backup: Azure Backup allows you to automatically create backups based on a schedule, which reduces the risk of data loss due to hardware failure or erroneous user actions.
  • Flexible storage: service supports various types of storage such as local disks, Azure Blob Storage, and third-party storage systems.

Azure Backup also provides the ability to refresh data, that depends on the backup storage options you choose. The service provides the ability to restore data to a specific date and time or restore individual files and folders.

Azure Backup provides storage of data backups from customer locations in the Azure cloud environment. Customers can use backup tools such as Microsoft Azure Backup Server or Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager to back up data and store it in the cloud. Azure Backup also provides the ability to refresh data in case of data loss.

In the second part, we will look at a service that allows you to ensure the resumption of workflows after an emergency – Azure Site Recovery (ASR).
